Our friend and colleague Roy Standring sadly passed away on Thursday, November 6th, 2025 following heart failure and liver complications. We were informed by his wife that Roy had been quite ill for some time.
Roy was a real “character” and a very well liked member of the Chapel, both on days and nights. His passing has brought sadness to all his friends.
Roy had an extremely quirky sense of humour and view on life and he always enjoyed the comp room banter. Well known for his love of running, Roy was a long-standing member of Salford Harriers where he was very highly respected and became Club President.
Roy’s wishes were that no fuss be made and he had opted for a private cremation with the minimum of disruption for all close to him.
