Derek Allen who worked almost exclusively in the Night Reading Room has passed away. Derek was a great character and a great cricket fan and he played for the Guardian Cricket Team in the 1960s. He was a regularl attendee at matches of both Lancs and Derbyshire CCC and regular supported his local teams in the Glossop area.
